Has anyone ever been on this anti-inflammatory with a J Pouch. I think I might be having exercise induced migraines and I've read where this drug has been prescribed and I usually exercise 5-6 times a week, so I would probably have to take it fairly regular if prescribed. Just wondered tho if I should take it because of my pouch and I have a apt with my neurologist Thursday.

Thanks!

Indocin is probably one of the harshest NSAID drugs for the gut, so if you decide to use it, you need to be very cautious and alert for any signs of pouchitis, gastritis, or bleeding, and stop it immediately if they occur. Indocin is very "old school," right up there with aspirin. There are probably better migraine preventatives out there that are appropriate for you, like Inderal (propranolol), but if you have not had NSAID induced IBD flares before, then a trial of Indocin would be OK. But if you have had those flares, it probably is not a good idea.

My husband takes Inderal daily to prevent his migraines (he has UC). He still has to take Imitrex with naproxsyn periodically. But, the Inderal reduced the frequency of the headaches.
