Ugh so got a letter today. I was denied from my previous hospital stay and I quote "anal pain and bleeding isn't a medical necessity" really? Come on. Lets just add to my debt

Of course you have to appeal that. Probably CC can use some different codes to get it covered. Have fun going back and forth on the phone with CC and your insurance company. I spent hours doing that yesterday, trying to straighten out some messes from 2012.

I would fight this tooth and nail with insurance company and I agree with liz about reprocessing the claim and revising yhe code for coverage.
Ditto - fight this one. Recoding might help. You definitely need to get covered for this since it is a result of the condition they are covering.
And they wonder why everyone hates insurance companies!! OK, I suppose that nobody wonders...
I guess they are presuming that you actually checked into a luxury hotel, and was not admitted to the hospital by a physician? But, seriously, I think this is probably just an error in regard to your actual diagnosis, and how it was coded...
