First symptom of UC June 19 2012 (stomach pains, blood in stool)
I am 10 days out and staying with simple soft foods I am down 3 trips from yesterday. And I increased my food today.



Diagnosed with UC July 3 2012
Hospitalized July 20 2012 due to blood loss and other complications.
Loss of 54lbs in weight between July 19 and August 4 2012
Total removal of large intestine July 30th after large intestines completely ruptured.

It really varies from person to person. When I had my takedown I remember seeing people who were down to 6-8 BM per day two weeks out from their surgery and I could still barely function at that point because was constantly still running to the bathroom. Also I think people get stuck on a number, but to me the urgency was the main thing. It went away within the first month and bathroom trips settled into a more predictable manner. Leakage at night stopped at about three months out. But I have also seen others who have struggled with these issues for a much longer time. So the point is, you should be gradually improving as time goes by.
