Just thought I'd share. I've had a couple of partial obstructions in the last year or so (likely due to adhesions since nothing has ever come up on imaging), and sometimes my output gets quite thick and difficult to pass. Prune juice helps move things along for me in these situations, though I find I only need it in small quantities - literally a shot glass or two of the stuff is all it takes. Too much and I have cramping and the runs. The problem is that I can only find large bottles of the prune juice, and once opened it only keeps in the fridge for 7-10 days. Well, since I only drink it when I need it, and I can't stand wasting things, lately I've been freezing the leftover quantities in ice cube trays. I'm happy to report, the stuff freezes great, and I just cover the trays with a sheet of tinfoil. I pop out 2 or 3 cubes as needed, and it does the trick. (It's also easier to get down in "popsicle" form!).

Just thought I'd share. Handy j-pouch tips for around the home. Wink

Here's another tip about prune juice that I learned during one of my hospital stays... HEAT IT UP in the microwave!! And yeah, just use a little!! But it was so soothing heated up!!!

Also, I have often seen it in little cans.. in a "six pack". But glad you figured out that you can freeze it. But look around folks... because canned juice can sit on a shelf for a long time and that way you have it in an emergency!!
