I just started today to take out my indwelling catheter for 2 hours at a time during the daytime. At night, I will wear the catheter and have it plugged in the end and have gauze tied around my hips and tie the catheter in place.
I already emptied it once today. I have noticed that when I empty my pouch, I have to stand at the end and lean over the toilet to empty it completely. So that helps to make sure I'm not stretching out the Kock Pouch too much. Which could lead to problems with my valve bending, like it did before. It is still continent so that's a plus.
So this week is empty every 2 hours. If all goes well, next week I go to every 3 hours. But I will wear the catheter capped off at night so it doesn't have too much pressure on it. Praying this goes well, so now it's wait and see.
