Maria, if you do a search for "fistula" or "RV fistula" under the Find drop down, you'll find lots of posts on that subject. Many of us have had or are dealing with them and are happy to help.

Strange, I never even had BB the first time around!! Since then I've dealt with it occasionally, off and on, and generally only for a short period of time. (Usually the source was an infection or something else out of the ordinary.) Some struggle with it a lot more.

I have it A LOT right now, having just recently had a pouch advancement. So bad at the beginning that I had blisters in places blisters should never be... Eeker But with proper care and attention, it is slowly getting better. Not fun to deal with at all.

There are several barrier creams on the market, the operative ingredient is zinc oxide. The % zinc oxide ranges from 10-40%. The 40% is a thicker cream that provides the greatest barrier and the 10% is creamier and wipes off the easiest.

I tended to use the barriers that were around 15% or so. Because the 40% kind of is like caulk and does not easily wipe off.

There are many brands, A&D, Desitin, Balmex, Walgreens.......
