I have an appointment with my surgeon in a week and have an MRI scheduled for this Friday. Currently I'm experiencing extreme stinging on the outside of my butt and just inside as well... It only happens when I go to the bathroom. I have a loop ileostomy but I still have to sit down and try to go. Mainly mucous butt blood comes off on the toilet paper. Half hour later the pain may go away and other times it continues. I'm not sure if I've pushed too hard. Last week a GI said it looked like everything was okay yet, it could just be scar tissue causing pain?

Sounds exactly like a fissure to me. Straining causes them and they can be hard to see.

Sitz baths, lidocaine cream, nifedipine cream, and Botox injections.
