I am almost 7 months post surgery, I had a J pouch contructed after 7 really good years with an ileostomy (think I made a huge mistake). Anyways, things started out rough for the first 3-4 months until my GI doc put me on rotating Flagyl and Cipro doses. I'm almost done my round of Cipro before I go off of all antibiotics for 2 months. In the last three days I have been quite nauseous, had watery dhiarrea, loss of appetite, and had a lot of stomach gas (burping). From the small amount of research I am thinking that this is most like a) a bug b) Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), or c) a partial blockage.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any ideas as to what it could be? Is it even possible to have SIBO while on fairly large doses of antibiotics?

Geoff,
How is your tongue? Feeling thick and pasty? Coated with a layer of white stuff (like post hangover?)...do you feel like your breath smells a bit funny or different?
Could just be yeast or a reaction to the antibiotic or both...Have you been taking any Probiotics to counter the negative effects of the nasty antibiotics? (just don't take them within an hour of each other)I had reactions to certain antibiotics at different times in my health cycles...sometimes I could take the same one without a problem and sometimes they made me sick.
You might want to start eating some natural yogurts too...they can help.
