i have had a j-pouch since 1994 and ever since i had the 3 operations for it to work correctly, i've suffered lower back pain and i was on steroids for too long last month I was hospitalized for a few weeks. Well they forgot to give me the part about the medication and how to taper, etc. So I experienced terrible steroid side-effects that I am still struggling with. But my back pain has become alot worse after being on the steroids at the highest dose for 12 weeks instead of the 6 weeks I was supposed to be on. My question is does anyone experience this back pain esp. in the coccy area, in fact one of the bones down there has doubled in size and it's agony.
