hi ..my doctor for my complicated intestinal issues has been dr. shen but i realize i wing it most times on what to do when thinks head south or email dr. shen..

i really need a more local dr. who is familiar with jpouch and issues that can come up to back me up or go to to consult with and work in conjunction with shen..

some of you seem to have some knowledgeable drs who get creative with your problem(barrister for one)

anybody have any recommendations for me..i live in santa barbara(any one there i doubt it?)

or los angels maybe..wold appreciate any suggestion


actually going to see shen next week..fitting me in ..been so up and down last few months.. my plane ticket from cal to clevenand would you believe over 1000 dollars due to making only one week in advance..crazy but necessary right now..

hoping there are some recommendations out there ..figure best bet l.a..

dr. shen recommended dr. melmed...says he's a great dr. and he heads up dept on research there at cedars..have set up appointment..thanks for your suggestions but was looking for a g.i not surgeon..i think they see things differently..

and years ago when i was searching for help i actually went to see dr.fleshner(spelling)what i remember about him was he wore funny cloggy shoes..he liked being comfortable..he ran some tests to see if my issues were outside of the pouchitis issue or outside the pouch i think ..tests were negative so he put me on reflex and said just stay on it..i remember i had my first 3month hiatus..it was great but after that it was back to same old same old..but that was years ago maybe 6 so he might have some new tricks up his sleeve..he was very nice after my very,horrible,bad surgeon who did pouch ok i guess but bedside manners was so,so awful..i spent a lot of time crying after seeing him..

anyway going to give g.i a shot in aug..yikes my computer will not let me write his naname it keeps changing it to melted!!!
