I had a LOT of success with the Paleo diet in the sense that it seriously cut back my diarrhea and thickened my stools up so I felt like a "normal" person. I would still be doing it except that I have chronic small bowel obstructions and I'm limited as to what I can eat or I'll get an obstruction.

My GI doc is the one who coauthored the book with Rubin, "Restoring Your Digestive Health." I always believe in starting with diet before attempting the heavy drugs. If you can help yourself naturally, why wouldn't you? If you want to, do a search here on Paleo and you might find the video of me and my doctor giving a talk about the diet and how it can help.

I'm not on her much so if you have questions shoot me a PM.

Olive,

OK thank you. I am in the process of having the ELISA/ACT Test done on June 16th. The doctor I am seeing is an MD but is also a Holistic Doctor and believes doing things naturally, but will prescribe Meds when necessary.

I have to try another approach. I get Pouchitis at least 4 times a year and the medical doctors tell me diet has nothing to do with it. The frequency of getting Pouchitis is too often and it lasts too long each time I get it. I am tired and exhausted and it takes a while before I recuperate from Pouchitis. I am normally put on Cipro and Flagyl.

There has got to be another way. The medical profession treats the sypmtoms rather than the problems.

The holistic doctor said it was too bad I didn't see him before I had the surgery to create a J-Pouch so there are no guarantees but I have to do something.

Thanks for the invite to post a PM to you. When I get a chance, I will look at the video.

God Bless
