Pouch was made and connected. For how long did you have anal discharge. Basically white mucus. Also having sensations down there once and a while. Bag is doing good but how much output should I expect.

Every day until takedown for me. Your digestive tract creates mucus and needs to expel it, whether it's "hooked up" or not. It's a sign of healthy tissue. It's normal to see a small amount of blood in the discharge as well. Nothing to worry about. A lot of people have trouble with continence with the mucus because it is so slippery -- these issues usually don't persist after takedown. Don't stress!
I overdid things yesterday, walked way to far, so now i am having those rectal sensations, feels like something is moving right through the hole then stops, sometimes 2-3 times an hour, wakes me up at night but then I remember I dont have to go. I did have them before just worse today. If I push clearish white liquid comes out, sometimes slightly pink. Sounds like you think its normal, but with my in depth annoying description, do you still think so Pluot? trying not to worry. Follow up is Monday. my husband yelled at me to stay off the internet but its so hard.
I had j pouch surgery 3 weeks and 1 day ago and I am discharging mucus multiple times a day. I've read up on it and its normal.
Sometimes it's white liquid and sometimes it's darker and more solid. I feel pressure and discomfort building up in the pouch so that's when I need to sit on the toilet and let it out. It's a strange sensation at first but I'm getting used to using the pouch. I guess this is a prelude to what will come after take down surgery

oh- I dont feel mine in the pouch I feel mine really low. Did you have days where you overdid it? I have the feeling today a few times an hour but I dont have to get rid of anything unless I try to. My surgery was One week and 4 days ago. Im in the US. Good luck to both of us!
how much out put do you have also? whats your diet like now? when is your takedown scheduled?
Amazingly allswell I totally know the sensation you're describing. It happens to me if I have a lot of gas or if I've waited a really long time to go to the bathroom (I can usually semi-comfortably hold in an urge for an hour or two). It used to happen a lot more frequently when my pouch was newer -- I'm not sure exactly what causes it but I guess my point is that it's normal and in my experience it decreased with time.
Sometimes it's hard to know how much activity we're really ready for, if you feel like you overdid it just take a rest and slowww down next time. My personal opinion is that you should NOT push. It's a bad habit and it can mask other problems.

Alliswell, the feeling is low down for me as well. I think it's where the pouch is stapled to the sphincter muscles. It feels like I am straining even though I'm not. I find if I sit on the toilet, move back and forwards a bit, then the mucus comes out, I do my best not to push too hard. Sometimes it seems like even a bit of stool is coming out but that is normal too.
Diet wise I stuck to carbs for the first two weeks, but now I am eating salads and being more adventurous.

As for my output it varies, in the morning it is more liquidy but it firms up during the day. I am not taking Imodium, and now I am eating more fibre it is not as thick as when I was mainly having carbs but I prefer to eat healthy and have a bit more output.
After the first surgery I was jogging two weeks after, but this time I am taking it easy a lot more. I want to make sure the pouch fully heals before I go back to working out. I may start jogging next week if I feel less discomfort. I haven't scheduled take down yet but I am thinking 2 months from when I had the surgery. This loop ileostomy is a pain to deal with compared to the end one I had after first surgery but at least I know it will be gone soon

the anal feelings woke me up a few times last night but I wiggled around and quite a bit of mucus came out. less than the other day though. At least it doesn't hurt when I cough any more. Going to take more short walks during the day.I am still winded, especially in the morning. I think the fact that i didn't do alot of cardio exercise before the operation is taking its tole.
