I just read a post about someone who was ill for over a month from the disgusting prep that people are put through for scopes and scans. First, in 18 years, I've never had to prep for either procedure, just nothing to eat or drink the day before, or ever just after midnight.
Secondly. when they make us drink the pre-scan liquid (I can't think of the name of it), why do we have to drink so much. I FINALLY, after asking, and asking, they listened. We don't have large intestines, so why do we need to drink three LARGE cups of the liquid? Now, I only have to drink 1.5 or maybe 2 cups to get great pictures.
I just felt awful for that person. No one should have to suffer for a month after a procedure. Sometimes, I really think you have to get their attention and speak politely, but make them listen to your concerns. It only makes sense.
