I posted last week under "question" thanks for those responses, thought if I had a better heading I may get more esponses. I two year out from j-pouch surgery, had a new normal of aprox 10 times a day, as long as I didn't have butt burn I was ok with that , about a week ago things changed and now my output is hardly anything, don't have the urge to go at all unless some gas will build up. Doc said ok to take some milk of magnesia to get things moving, hoping to have a scope soon. Not sure what is going on and starting to get very concerned.

Hi Holly, I actually had the same problem. My scope was perfect, everything looked great (I even had a CT scan and that was fine) But I still wasn't going and was feeling like crap. I saw my surgeon and he had me get a defogram and it ended up being a rectal/ intestinal prolapse.
and what treatment was done for that Megals?
Unfortunately, I'm scheduled for surgery June 6th. My surgeon is going to go in, pull everything up and tack it to my abdominal wall.
I went almost 3 months before I got an answer (extremely frustrating) but as soon as I saw my surgeon, he ordered the test and told me what all the possible causes could be. Maybe seeing your surgeon sooner rather than later will get you faster answers and results. Good luck!!
that is why I like to post here, I think we get better answers from others going thru this I will call my surgeons office monday and just pass this info on to his nurse. I have a feeling I am going thru something like this. How are you getting your pouch to empty now?
ps I did see my surgeon on Tuesday of last week and he was ordering a pouch scope, said everything felt fine but who knows

My surgeon told me to use a fleets enema every other day. Before that advice, I was taking miralax. I hope your surgeon orders the test! I will be honest, the test wasn't the best thing in the world to go through...but it gave me the answers I needed. I'm here if you have any other questions
thank you I have a feeling I may have alot of other questions and I googled that test and I am sure it will not be too awfully fun. What is the recovery time for this surgery?
It wasn't very fun, my husband had to deal with a lot of anxiety leading up to it! But I am glad I did it. My surgeon said I'd be the hospital 3-7 days ( he won't know for sure until he actually opens me up) He said he can't say for sure whether or not he'll have to do anything with the pouch, but is hoping he won't have to. It will be a longer recovery because it has to be open, rather than laparoscopic because of my history and the amount of adhesions I had last time. I had him write me out of work for 10 weeks, just be be on the safe side. He said it might be a rough recovery because my history.
I am going to PM you
I have a pouch scope set up for May 27th. Hoping it shows what the "slow down" is.
I am happy to say my system "woke up". I have NO idea what caused this slowdown but I have def. cut back on my red meat intake thinking that I may have been eating too much. I told my husband I will never complain about going to the bathroom up to 10 times a day !! (I think he wants that in writing)
That's great to hear! Glad things are moving for you again.
