A while back my colorectal surgeon told me I had stricture on the j-pouch to anus anastomosis.

This makes it hard to empty... which leads to having to go several times in a row to get everything... which leads to pouchitis (for me).

Anything I should ask my Dr. next time I see him about this? Is there ways to stretch the scar tissue?

I remember him saying he stretched it during a scope once but after that it just kind of goes back.

It makes it hard for me to take Immodium, etc because it makes the output just too hard to pass.

I have Crohn's and still go 8 times a day and once overnight at least.

Thanks all...

Currently on Cimzia and Entocort
Same exact issues here. Been dilated a number of times and stricture always recurs. I also have to go several times in a row to empty and can be very painful at times and have chronic pouchitis due to it. Seeing my surgeon Monday as GI is suggesting pouch advancement. I have cuffitis and fissures from all the straining to empty pouch. Very, very painful. No Chrohns as of this time. I guess you should revisit your surgeon it GI as they may opt for another dilation or determine if inflammation can be csusing your emptying issues.
