When this happened to me my surgeon suggested I use the opportunity to do Kegels in order to strengthen my anal sphincter(s). Yeah, right! I was so disheartened because that mucus is the most slippery stuff I've ever "seen" and I felt like an utter failure at clinching hard enough to hold it in. Kegels, my "_ss". Fortunately, once I had my takedown I realized how helpful this mucus is to help pass the stool out of us. Without it, we'd feel "stuck". Wish they had told me!!!!! You are experiencing a dress rehearsal and it is all good!
