Hi guys! So I'm only two weeks post takedown surgery with my j-pouch now and the butt burn is still quite relevant. I got the Calmoseptine before my surgery because of all the good reviews I heard about it, but it just doesn't help me. I am currently using Aquaphor, but I was just wondering some other ointments some of you use that would help my butt burn? Thanks!

My daughter first used calmoseptine after her takedown. She liked it however it was not quite strong enough to help with her raw skin those first few weeks. After seeing our surgeon for a post op visit, he had her start using ilex. It is a petroleum based cream. It adheres to the skin to create a barrier. It worked like a miracle to help protect and allow her skin to heal. We had to special order it from our pharmacy, because they did not have it stocked on shelves, but a prescription is not needed. You apply it twice a day and then apply plain vasoline over it every time you use the bathroom. It really worked for her! Good luck! Hope you find something that works great for you!
