Attn J pouchers/ with pouchitis and/or chrohns

I am trying to compile a list of go to foods good and bad.

What foods do you absolutely love and have no trouble with/ and others that absolutely do u in.

seems like I am hit or miss on certain foods. Meaning I can eat foods one day and have no trouble then severe problems the next.

Things I tend to go to now:

Yogurt
Kefir
smoothies made with the above including whey protein.
ice tea
Gatorade and other no carbonated beverages
I do drink soda and don't really have trouble with it
Rice
chicken/turkey
breads
tuna
eggs/baoon

I am seeing who eats the above with no trouble and can add to it with other foods that would be easy to digest. I have recently tried VSL #3 after a round of anti-biotics and predizone and it has absolutely murdered my insides... its sucks.. im suffering until I can can get to the docs in the next week.. Ok. im done rambling.. any feedback would be appreciated. thanks Jpouch peeps!!

Most of the above are fine for me... This is a subject that is VERY subjective though. For example, I have no problems eating spicy or acidic foods, many people can't tolerate them.

Carrots, winter squash, and potatoes are go-to veggies for me. They don't increase my frequency at all (unlike other veggies).

Summer squash (like zucchini) increases my frequency a lot.

Coconut milk wrecks me. Incredible amounts of gas.

Most other foods don't cause noticeable changes for me. Honeydew melon and cantaloupe work well for me as far as fruits go (in addition to the classic banana). I also have grapes often as long as I'm careful with the skins and don't eat a huge serving at once.

The thing that really affects me the most is quantity. When I eat less I feel better and I go less. It's harder to be more active because that requires more calories, but I try to offset with extra calories that are really easy to digest, like yogurt, instead of steak Smiler

I used to eat ANYTHING without issue, but these days, avoid nuts, seeds, mushrooms, corn, bamboo shoots, raw cabbage in bulk... I tend to be a bit narrow at the anal anastomoses site, and these are blocking foods.

I'm lactose intolerant, and use almond milk. Whey protein kills me. I can eat cheese and yogurt, though. Can't do milk in bulk or ice cream without cramps.

I can't eat raw apples, or stone fruits, they cause cramps, and I avoid beans and soy in bulk (gas, gas, GAS!). My best fruits are strawberries and bananas. Salads give me no issues, especially raw spinach and butter lettuces... But I leave out carrots. Cukes are ok. Can eat pretty much all veggies cooked.

However, besides my blocking foods, I can usually tolerate a bite or two of the others without major issue. The more I eat of them the worse I feel, though. I also have a degree of GERD from time to time. I love sauce, but need a Pepcid these days; however, no pouch issues with spice or sauce, it's all stomach.
