Been a long time since I've posted here. Things have been going great (knock on wood) - hence, why I haven't checked in for some time. Just a quick question. After takedown, I remember getting some great advice on analgesic creams. My go-to is always Calmoseptine but some years ago, I purchased another brand (more for numbing) at Walgreens that was great too. It was not preparation H but similar and I believe it started with Anal.. Anyway, I threw out my old tube years ago and was looking to find it again but can't seem to locate the product. I'm pretty sure it has lidocaine in it. Can anyone give any suggestions as to what brand it may be?

Hi Marianne. You're right. We "graduated" from J-Pouch surgery around the same time. This forum was such a godsend for me. I wish I could give back more to newcomers but I get so bogged down with the kids, teaching, etc. I've got to make a better effort. It's amazing how over time the body recovers from the loss of such a huge organ. Never thought I'd be where I am now. As for the cream, true Calmoseptine is definitely my go-to cream as well. I still use it as a preventative ointment. Just wish I could remember the name of the other one. I keep thinking analpram but that's a prescription one and I know this one was over the counter. They may not manufacture it anymore because last time I was in Walgreens, I couldn't find it. Bummer.
