Hi Friends

So far I've been using the Coloplast 2 Piece Click system and love it. Not a single issue so far.

A rep from Coloplast called me today to find out how things are going, and is mailing me a bunch of the 2 piece sensura flex systems to try. I am open to trying the system, because, well, why not?! I'm still at home recovering so may as well give it a go now.

Has anyone else used this system? Any feedback or suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Is that the adhesive system? If so they are junk. They have a very low profile but they are really not reusable, you cant trust the adhesive after it has been removed once. So you have a system that allows you to change your pouch/bag without changing the skin barrier. I saw very little advantage to it plus it increases the chances of a leak. I went to a one piece sensura system and am happy with it. If you are active get them to send you samples of the adhesive barrier strips they are amazing in securing the system no belt needed.

Hi Chiromancer

Thanks for your reply, it is the adhesive based coupling system and I was wondering how effective the adhesive would be if I wanted to change the bag along the way.

The company is sending me a bunch of the barrier strips - they look like half moons, right? I've heard great things about them for swimming, sports, etc and can't wait to try them out as once I'm recovered I want to get back to the gym 4/5 days a week and I'm a person who sweats a lot with cardio so the extra strips should help with security.

If you just want to change the bag, that is leave the skin barrier/waffer and replace the bag the system works OK and is lower profile than the system you are using. It is just that I hardly ever need to do that. However the opposite is not true you can't change the barrier and reuse the bag or remove the bag to look at the stoma and then reuse the same bag.

Yes the barrier strips look like half moons and will probably work really well when you have recovered

Hi Again Everyone!

I just wanted to give a quick update on the Coloplast 2 piece flex that I've been trying, I usually use the Coloplast 2 piece click.

OK, the profile of the flex is definitely a lot closer to my body. And I can't even feel I'm wearing it - unless the bag is filled up and getting a bit heavy, know what I mean?! But then again, I couldn't really tell I was wearing the click system either as my skin really loves the Coloplast SenSura flange.

It was easy peasy to apply, and the adhesive is super strong. I worried a bit the first day of it coming apart, but heck no, this thing is behaving like a one piece.

So, I liked being able to apply the wafer (I use light convexity and an Eakin) and centre it properly, really pushing down over the Eakin area to get a good seal. Then I just stick the bag on - so essentially once the bag is on the system really behaves like a one piece I guess.

I have a ton of the click systems so I will most likely use them up and then order the flex because I really do like them.

So, if anyone was curious and looking to change up their system, definitely worth trying, and Coloplast will send you plenty of samples.

Have a great day everyone!
P
