I have questions for anyone really. I had a total colectomy when I was 14. That was when I got my J Pouch. I have had some complications throughout the years but nothing to bad that couldn't be fixed. My pouch became unattached in 2003 and I had to have surgery to attach it to my tailbone. Scar tissue was created to attach it to. Due to years of trying to become pregnant, me and my husband started seeing a fertility DR about 2 years ago. We have had 2 unsuccessful IUI's. My husband also has a low sperm count. So with his problem plus my scar tissue problems we will need to have IVF to hopefully conceive. We hope to start the process in the next few months. I actually am pretty terrified just because this is something I want so badly and I don't want anything to happen to my pouch. I know we will end up with a C-section if successful.
Anyways on to my questions:
1. Has anyone been pregnant with their Pouch attached to their tailbone? If so, did you experience a lot of problems from this and what kind?
2. I am also worried about my scars because I have been cut open along the same scar several times and I am worried about how this will feel. Did anyone experience unbearable pain?
3. I am on Remicade for a fistula I once had back in 2009. I am mainly still getting infusions bc it makes me feel almost like I did pre-pouch and stomach issues. Awesome. Did anyone get pregnant and stay on Remicade or did you stop it while pregnant?
4. How was the IVF experience? Did you experience a lot of pain or just discomfort?
I know I will have more questions soon. Thanks to anyone who can help!
