My wife is currently having a severe UC flare, her second one ever (2 years remission after first which also required hospitalization), but is not responding to high dose IV steroids after 5 days. Humira has been ordered and will arrive tomorrow but if she doesn't turn the corner very soon may need colectomy.
Does anyone have any experience with the surgical or medical team at Wake Forest Univ. Baptist Medical Center where she is an inpatient? Any other thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. Both of us are pretty freaked out right now.
