I had the illeostomy done in April of 2013. And when i was in hospital the surgeon told me I would have leakage and blood still from the bottom end but intime it would go away. Well it's been 8 months and I feel like I still have my UC cause I have go run to the bathroom because I can feel the urge for my bottom end to explode and most of the time I don't make it on the toilet I will make a nasty mess on the seat cause I can't get on the toilet fast enough. I seen my surgeon back in October and told her I wanted reconnected and that my insurance was expiring at the end of the year. She told me to get new insurance in place before we go any further. I've tried the stupid healthcare gov web site have been on the phone with them several time because the stupid site doesn't work. I got the entire application done over a month ago and to this day still won't let me see the plans I'm elgible for. And the customer service tells me to try again in couple days and it never works. I even tried to get medicaid and got denied. Don't understand that either cause I don't work during the winter months cause I'm self employed and my line of work is seasonal. I'm so frustrated with all of this. Can't get crap out of healthcare site people and from what I hear premiums are gonna be higher then I pay now and won't be able to afford it anyhow. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I gave until the end of the month with my current insurance then I'm sol and no way can I afford the bags and wafers and whatever else. Wish I would've had a healthy colon. This us to stressful for me to deal with.

My brother and a friend both got healthcare.gov to work. They did report that it required patience and a couple of hours, so perhaps you could try again when you have enough time to work through the issues. I don't know how much it will cost for you, but most folks have been pleasantly surprised. Good luck!
My friend finally got through a few weeks ago too. I think yesterday was a really bad day as it was "the day" all the problems were to be finally solved. Hopefully the number of people on the website at the same time will go down and you can get through.
Well I called the healthcare gov people and talked to a supervisor and he redid my entire application and said in a week we might be able to give you your determination and still could not show me any health insurance options" so who knows I'm sick of dealing with this.
I think you are self-employed, right? I bet that's what is causing the extra work. It's set up for cookie cutter people and your case is harder because your tax return is complicated Did you ever find out if your current insurance covered my surgeon in Iowa? I'm guessing it didn't or you would have gotten in there to hopefully get your take down this month
Yes I am self employed and my insurance did say I'm only covered in my state which us a bunch of bs but oh well the end of the month I'm done with them. So yes I'm sure being self employed makes this all harder because of my taxes and etc. Thats why we bust our bums in the spring to fall time to get money built up to get us through winter. But I contacted Medicaid again and they highly suggest I file for disability so I'm gonna look into my next options until I hear back from the healthcare market place. Thank you for everyone's input this is so stressful for me dealing with all this. My entire life this is why I held onto my colon so long because of insurance stuff. I hate being in debt and I believe that's the governments entire plan to make everyone go deeper into debt. Cause from what I've been told premiums are a lot higher then what I'm paying now and deductibles are outrageous.

Please dont listen to what you've been told, check it out yourself or have someone help you. The amount of disinformation floating around about the ACA/ObamaCare is sickening.
There is a lot of variability from state to state. Generally the states that have their own exchanges have more competition and better choices and rates. Regardless, If your income is below a certain level you can qualify for premium assistance which can be substantial. Many many people that have individual policies are going to pay less for better coverage, there are some that will pay more. For someone such as yourself with an individual policy and a pre existing condition I would suspect you will pay less, probably much less. Remember you have to buy through the exchanges in order to qualify for premium assistance.

I hope that is the case. The reason why insurance companies had to cancel individual policies is because those policies didn't meet the minimum requirements required by the health care act. That only happened in states that didn't have the minimum standards so the coverage will hopefully be better and less expensive.
It still is the doctor's fault for using the excuse that he needs to loose weight to have the take down surgery. It looks like she just doesn't feel competent to do the surgery so therefore shouldn't do it. Does she have any partner C/R surgeons that you can see now to see if they can finish the surgery? Maybe someone that has done more procedures will be able to go forward and get it done this month. Then you will hopefully be able to recuperate and be able to work again! Can you find out all the C/R surgeons on your Insurance Company's Panel? Maybe you need to go West or to Lincoln etc.
