I need lumbar surgery (L5- S1, etc.) My Ortho surgeon strongly recommends (for my extensive damage), the anterior and posterior approach, for a much better result. He is top rated Ortho surg who performed my cervical surgery last year with great success (it was also extensive).
He includes a vascular surgeon who will maneuver through abdomen making space for him. I also have a top rated vascular surgeon. I met with him and while it's doable, he'll have to retract the pouch.
I'm consulting with both Dr Worsey and Dr Kaiser as they are local KP surgeons for me. I want to be sure retracting is too risky and if so, if the pouch will snap back into position.
Anyone have anterior lumbar surgery or similar experience?
