I've just come out of the most horrible time of my J pouch and career.

It just would not empty. I'm jot sure if it is the same for everyone else but I can feel when my pouch is full as if it is a fifth limb.

But the ladt three days it has been horrible, I get stomach churns and then nothing.

Anyone any ideas. I'm booked in for a scope.

Definitely sounds like a stricture. I had one for a little while and knew something was wrong. Always felt like I had the pressure like I had to go so bad and then get to the toilet and hardly be able to get anything out. This continued all day for days on end and yes it is painful I would avoid eating so I didn't have to go to the bathroom. What helped for me to eleviate the pain temporarily was a warm bath with Epsom salt and also sitting on a heating pad. I also would use beano and gas-x to get rid of all the trapped gas because that would make it a lot more uncomfortable. My surgeon dilated my pouch when I was in the office and said I would need to be dilated with a tool (nasty looking metal object) and when he showed me it I decided to go the anesthesia route. I have been really sore since then which was Sept 25th and I feel like I may still have a stricture because it has still been difficult and painful to empty. I'm guessing if I go back on the 17th he is going to suggest self dilation to keep stretching out the scar tissue. I'm hoping in the future it will eventually stay stretched out but there are some that this is a chronic issue and have to get dilated every couple months. The extent we have to go to to feel halfway normal and it always usually involves sticking objects where we would rather not.
