I was on a 2 week round of Cipro for bacterial overgrowth and felt great until about 5 days after finishing the Cipro. Then I went 180 degrees the other way. Was diagnosed with C Diff (this is my third or fourth bout with it). I've been on vancomycin for 14 days. It helped somewhat. I finished my last dose of vanco on Friday and my symptoms are back with a vengeance. How am I going to get rid of this? I am about ready to go over the edge! Planning to call my GI at Cleveland Clinic in the morning but dreading another day/night feeling like this and dealing with this uncontrollable diarrhea. What has worked for anyone else?

Yea I won't EVER take cipro again since getting c.diff while on it.

I tested 3 times negative but swore I had it for about 4 months after I went on Vanco. It took awhile to get back to "normal".

Have you tried taking Florastor? Only probiotic that helps keeping c.diff from returning. an option and can get it at CVS or another pharmacy perhaps.

You are only really eligible for fecal transplant if you test negative 3 times after treatment. I have looked into it. It might not be c-diff. Have you tested recently? Mine was very bad SIBO and just lingering feeling of still having c.diff. Having symptoms doesn't always mean it is c.diff again. Just get another PCR test to confirm then try Dificid.

I don't know why they put you on Cipro to begin with Mad That's what caused it once when I still had my colon.

I feel so bad for you. You probably need to get back on the vanco because it is obviously not gone. Been there, done that and it's scary when you are afraid it's not going to go away.

I have had instances since having c.diff that I thought I had it back and had stool tests that were negative. Come to find out I now have chronic pouchitis instead and the symptoms are similar.

I take s.boulardii now, which is a probiotic, specifically to combat c.diff.

I hope you get over this nasty bug soon!
