9 days post step 1- too nauseous to eat/drink :(

Hey guys I'm 9 days past my first step and far far my stoma has been working since day 1. They said the j pouch was good to

My real problem is that I am so nauseous I cannot eat or drink anything

I've gone back from oral to iv pain meds and back on the iv fluid

Feeling like I'm going backwards and don't know what to do

Strong (opiate) pain meds commonly cause nausea. If that's the cause, the best way to get rid of the nausea is to reduce or eliminate the opiates. Perhaps you can try putting up with more discomfort?

I'll strongly second that. I was switched from opiates to oral Tylenol (paracetamol) four days post op. As long as you can keep it down it should be tolerable.

Have they tried any anti nausea meds?
