Sorry, I posted this in the Pouchitis forum too - I'm desperate to know what this is so I can feel better.
My intestines are still waking up, got out of surgery a week ago. I had pouchitis a month ago before.
My doc appt yesterday with xray said that I had constipation and ileus (intestines still waking up.) So she prescribed clear liquids and stool softener.
Today I switched from clear liquids to solids, then kind of back to liquids.
The symptoms I'm having that may be Pouchitis?: low-grade fever (99.2), nausea, more frequent stools esp at night, off and on abdominal cramps (I thought they were gas pains), a little blood.
But a question is if this is just withdrawal from pain meds since I'm tapering off Oxycontin at the same time? Or is it all just normal post-surgery symptoms?
Thanks guys, you are so helpful in my new body. I wish I understood this all more automatically.
