I'm not sure of the dosages, but it just so happened that when I was hospitalized with UC, the daughter of a patient in my ward was studying to be a naturopath. She recommended that I take tumeric as it's good for IBD and inflammation, as well as other digestive issues.

I have been sure to include tumeric in my cooking every since; it's a pretty easy ingredient to add to rice, soups, quinoa, even salads. I don't find it has much of a taste on it's own so it doesn't really change the flavour profile of what you're cooking (it just turns everything yellow, naturally. Smiler). However, as I cautioned earlier, I have no way of knowing how much one should be taking, or if cooking tumeric affects any anti-inflammatory properties it might have.

I do recall other threads on this subject; one poster used to buy tumeric extract from the bulk food store and fill capsules herself.

On an aside, I had actually been considering seeing a naturopath a while back. This thread has kind of rejogged that idea in my mind...
