I am about 27 wks along and have noticed an increase in frequency and pressure in the past two weeks. I thought that once the baby got bigger that might happen, but it is still fairly small. Just wondering if other people have any expierences with this?

Absolutely. While most women have increased urination, I totally pooped more frequently, the bigger she got in there. Like my pouch couldn't expand as much, I suppose, because of all that baby!
Yep! 3rd trimester will get a bit tougher with the baby putting so much pressure on the pouch. If you find that you can no longer sleep since you have constant urges to go (and if you have an active baby at night), Unisom is a nice little sleep aid. It helped me to get several hour stretches, instead of waking up every 1-2 hours.
I am just not sure if it is a case of pouchitis or the baby getting bigger. If this is to personal of a question.....was the BM more watery again? I have been having more solid BMs since the begining of the pregancy. But now it is all of a sudden watery again and going every 2 hrs sometimes more. Thanks Ladies
i am probably not the best person to ask since i was managing chronic pouchitis while pregnant. mine were definitely more runny toward the end, but that could have been because my antibiotic wasn't really working too well anymore (i was on the same one the entire pregnancy). also, in the first trimester, with the change in hormones, my bowels slowed so much, i was only going once a day. so for me, the last three months were a huge increase in frequency and change in consistency.
if you think you have pouchitis, talk to your doctor about a round of either flagyl or augmentin. those are both safe to take in 3rd trimester. i was on low dose of augmentin the whole time.

Mine was my normal, in between porridgey consistency, most of the time.
I had pouchitis the entire pregnancy - it was a real issue and in the end we struggled to find the right antibiotic.
It was watery every couple of hours. You seriously do not want to get dehydrated so why not see your doctor? Sounds like it could be pouchitis.
Good luck and congratulations!

So i seen an GP at my doctors office and he started me on flagly. I see my regular doc today. My other concerns is that i seem to have constant rectal pressure. When i stand up it can be quite painful and sometimes sharp. I have not had this with other bouts of pouchitis. Anyone expierence something similar?
Can't speak to pregnancy, since I adopted both my kiddos, but rectal pressure is a hallmark symptom for pouchitis for me-100% of the time I have experienced rectal pressure it has been pouchitis and when I have pouchitis I have this symptom is present 90% of the time. If the Flagyl is going to work, I usually find it works very quickly.
Best of luck to you!
