Hey all,

I am not sure if I am fighting off cuffitus or pouchitis, but am going to give Pepto Bismal a try before I start on anti biotics. Just fyi, I do have a call in to my surgeon as well.

Any suggestions on how much I take (I prefer the liquid form)?

What sort of timing may I expect to know if it is working?

Thanks for your time, much appreciated,
Jen

I have used Pepto Bismol for what I have suspected to be cuffitis a number of times. I use the tablets and my experience has been that "less is more" - when I took two tablets twice a day I had my best results. (When I took 2 tabs 4 times a day I seemed to get bound up.)

I have heard others say that as well.

Hope that's useful to you.

Regards

Thanks Lew,

I thought I had read somewhere on here that someone was pleased with the help of Pepto Bismal. Thank you as well for your input re less is better - good information to have!

I have been taking it for a few days now (twice a day) and I went for accupuncture earlier this week and I seem to be recovering nicely! I am not sure if it's the PB or the accupuncture ... but something is working (and no antibiotics!)! woo hoo!

Cheers,
Jen
