Recurrent UTI

I think you should ask your OBGYN. I was instructed to urinate when I needed to and not hold it with an UTI. Therefore I don't see why you would have to do so right after sex unless you felt the urge. Maybe you could have a warm wash cloth or wipe close at hand to clean up the area afterwards to make sure nothing migrates to where it shouldn't be.

Unless you are over cleansing the vaginal area and throwing off the PH levels, I don't think that is what is causing the UTI's. Are the UTI's something new? A friend of mine always was plagued with them, and was recently diagnosed with polycyctic kidney disease...reoccuring UTI's can be linked to it...

Always make sure to wipe front to back...but thats an obvious one you probably already know...

usually people misdiagnose UTIS. I was for years, I was finally diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis 3 years ago. I would make sure that you do not have IC, it is actually pretty common to have.

Its only after we have intercourse I get UTIs not other wise
And doc had asked me to pee after we do it so It pushes all the bacteria
That may have got in . But for conceiving usually its recommended the one
Doesnot get up immediately ..so I am a lil confused what Shld I follow.
Also I am not taking any antibiotics yet ..my appoinment in next week
In the mean time I have to go for a wisdom toothe extraction on tuesday
And since I have undergone total hip replacement and total knee replacement
I have to take 2000mg of amoxicillin one hr prior to extraction
Will it be enuf to clear my UTI ? Or will I have to take more
I will ask abt IC and polycyctic kidneys during my appoinment
I just hate UtIs ..they are so uncomfortable n painful..
Anyhow I just hope 2000mg kills all the infection n I dont need any more antibiotics

Hi, I had been having the same problem for the last year and now I'm being told that I may have a pouch-bladder fistula. You may want to see a urologist, get a cystoscopy and rule out issues like IC or a fistula before trying to get pregnant.
