Essure & Waiting Period For IVF

Hi Andrea! I had the ESSURE procedure done in February of this year. My IVF doc told me that I could start meds before three months if he could tell that the coils were in place by ultra sound. I know that an HSG is typically done at 3 months, but he was eager to start and said as long as I wouldn't have the retrieval/transfer until after the three month mark, I should be fine. I decided to wait a little longer due to unexpected family events, but am finally going forward with the IVF now. I officially start meds next Wednesday and should know by the end of July if everything works out ok. Sorry I don't have a success story to share right this minute. Hope this was some help. :/

My Dr also wanted me to wait 3 months before going forward with IVF. He performed HSG at 3 month mark and was just looking to make sure the tubes were blocked. He said in his experience any coils in the uterus didn't have any impact on Pregnancy or IVF. In our case, however, we did essure placement last September and I'm just going through my first IVF cycle right now, but this was due to waiting for grant funding...

Thanks for the responses. I sure hope the coils have no effect, because my recent attempt at a FET was a success!!! We are only 5 weeks along, but hoping this will result in our take home baby. It has been four long years of trying. Looking back, I am so happy I took the time to have my hydro blocked. Lemon and Beth- Sounds like you both are going through IVF right now. Congrats Andrea! What great news! I actually have an appointment this Friday to see if its ok to go ahead with FET. My fresh transfer got canceled b/c they retrieved too many eggs and it increased my risk for hyperstimulation syndrome. Anyways, hopefully I will get this same great news soon! And Congrats again! I'm so happy for you!!!!

@andrea951....How are things going? I hope you are still on here. Did everything work out with your pregnancy? I had a failed IVF (Dec 14) and will be getting an Essure placement next week. I am kind of scared after reading all the Essure horror stories. Did you have any complications with Essure?
