Hi all...well I used to be a Jpoucher, for about 15 years, but over the summer,I was slated for pouch redo, but when the surgeon opened me up she found a mass infection, and wasnt able to save it. So here I am today with a perm illeo. Its working great, and Ive been much happier since the surgery, but I had an abcess(enterococcus)basically laying on my tailbone.I had severe pain before surgey and now we know why.I was put on IV daptomyocin, since Vanco pissed off my kidneys, for 6 weeks, and now 6 months later, Im feelin sick, running low grade fevers, and the pain around my tailbone is back. I went to my surgeon, but she doesnt think its likley that it has grown back. Has anyone experienced something like this? Im not sure if abcesses can even grow back. Thanks so much!

Scott- that is a great question...she really didnt tell me..she kinda just blew it off...I felt a bit like a mosquito being swatted at..

Jan thanks for reassuring me..Ive done alot of internet reading, seems to me enterococcus isnt so easy to get rid of...I have a CT scheduled for monday..it would have been for tomorrow, but we are preparing for an ice storm...FUN!

Good as my surgeon blew me off about an infection and it ended up being a big abscess they had to cut out. I'm sure if he'd listened to me and prescribed more antibiotic after the first round didn't clear it up I would have avoided the huge one under my original incision and if it had not been there I wonder if I would have developed the incision hernia right there either.

Good for you for not taking her opinion as you know when something is wrong with your own body.

Please let us know the test results and I hope your snow isn't a monster one.
TE Marie
