I unfortunately was diagnosed with an abcess on Sept 3rd.. I had surgery and had it packed with a 5 day hospital stay.. I also had another abcess deep in my rectum that had a draining tube for 2 weeks.. The abcess that was packed is not going away it tends to get soft for a few weeks and than hard.. I have had my J Pouch for 11 years with very few issues and now am feeling very helpless and frightened that my pouch could be in danger.. I need some advice from someone who's had this please!!!

Hi there, I had a bartholin gland abscess last year which unfortunany turned into a tiny fistular Frowner. While i was totally devistated by this my outlook has now improved. I was completely scared out of my wits! Iv had my j pouch for 12 years and it has been perfect! I tend to consider this this fistular problem as small issue as it is manageable and isn't causing me to many issues, but I do worry what the future may hold, guess that's not uncommon for anyone with a j pouch. I unfortunantly have bad days still though, and get horribly depressed, but I can somehow manage to pull myself out of them. Guess what im trying to say is, you will feel better, I know how scary and tough to think that something could risk what we have gone through HELL for! Stay strong and try and take each day one at a time x
