Born with hospital grade UC, began my 3-step J-pouch operation earlier this year on the 31st of July. Just completed stage two on October 16th.
During my second operation my surgeon had a tummy tuck performed to remove lose skin after losing 134lbs, in hope to create a fair seal around the stoma and stop bag leaking if not changed within 2-3 days. After my 2nd surgery, my stoma is very recessed below the surface of the skin, cannot get a seal, no matter the appliance/pouch being used or who applies it to my stomach.
Cresting is being performed along wearing a belt with moderate tension to help keep the bag on...Currently using the 2 piece Convatec convex system. Moldable rings have been tryed, osteomy nurse can't get it to seal. Paste does not hold either. and the pain from my stoma location is beyond a 10, the skin burning sensations have made it a crying type pain due to bowel water sitting on the skin 24/7. Any help is super appreciated, my osteomy nurse is out of ideas and asking for help from my surgeon, and my surgeon is basically saying there is nothing she can do until my final surgery in just over 3 weeks.
Any help is needed, would love to be able to move without the pain! Thanks in advance
