After being so sick, for so many years, and then having 3-step surgery, 2007 was the beginning of a whole new life for me. I've never felt better - in fact, I never knew what feeling healthy would be like.

After five years of health, my husband and I decided to start a family - but we were worried about infertility; I've heard all of the risks and my surgeon was quick to tell me how many babies he's helped deliver (he likes to participate in the c-section), but I was still worried.

Well, I stopped taking the pill on September 15th; I got my period on September 19th, and we tested positive for our pregnancy on October 18th!

So while I'm only 7 weeks pregnant and a lot can happen, I am thrilled to be able to say that we are pregnant - and not matter what happens, making the choice to make my health number 1 was the best thing I've ever done.

Yay! Congrats! My story sounds somewhat similar to yours. I had a 3-step in 2009 and then 10 months later had a fourth surgery due to my pouch twisting. After all of that I was worried about my ability to become pregnant too but after only a couple months of trying I'm now 22 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and feeling great! It really is amazing and I think it's even more amazing after all that we've been through :-) Hope you're feeling well!

Speaking of pregnancy I just watched the movie "Juno", which is about a teenaged girl who gets pregnant, unexpectedly. It's a really good movie and probably a good one to watch if you just got pregnant. I got it on Netflix after being amazed by Ellen Page's performance in "Hard Candy." She is also very good in "Juno."

It also reminded me that I once had an ultrasound on my abdomen and although I am a guy they used the same goo on me as they did on June in the movie when they ultrasounded her.

Congratualtions!!!

I also found out that I'm pregnant recently. In fact, I had my reversal in April and conceived in August! I was warned I may have problems conceiving naturally (I had the worse adhesions my surgeon had ever seen) - turns out it took one little accident so there is hope for us j pouchers!

I finally feel so happy with life after years of miserable UC I am working full time in a pretty stressful job, pregnant and enjoyed the most wonderful wedding day a couple of months ago. (Although hilariously I wasn't worried about needing the loo as i would have been in the UC days I was worried about the morning sickness!!! ha!)

Good luck to all expectant pouchers and those wanting to start a family. Here's to the next adventure. Smiler

I am going through IVF right now not because I couldn't get pregnant but I am doing PGD so I don't give my child FAP. I didn't want to do the 50/50 chance of giving it to them naturally. But in moving forward in doing IVF I found out I had some hydrosalphinx what might of got in the way so this was a good thing!
