I think I've gotten my antibiotics from my surgeons office so far, through her nurse. Does it make sense to go through my general gastroenterology now that my surgery is in the past, or should I continue to get through my surgeons office since she is the one who created my pouch? Or does it not really matter? Im going to attempt getting a different antibiotic over the phone, hate going all the way there when I dont even want to talk with them.

I get my antibiotics from my GI. Haven't seen my surgeon since 1996, one year post op. If I need a refill and my GI is out of the office, I have my primary doc fill it. I like to keep a supply on hand for travel, and "in case of emergency" so I can start right away if I develop pouchitis symptoms.

I don't have chronic pouchitis, but get it once or twice a year, and I never, ever travel without my Flagyl!
