A Walgreens employee just told me they can no longer get VSL#3DS from their wholesaler and there was none at any of their other locations they could get for me. She called other pharmacies she thought might carry it as they use different wholesalers and they can't get it either. I live in Central Iowa and the population around here is the largest in the state with over a half a million people,

Do any of you get it from another pharmacy chain? If so which one.

I'm going to contact the manufacturer and read past threads regarding probiotics so I'm not asking you all to repeat those discussions.

It does make me mad at this damn disease again.

I might just go off of it and see if my pouch is grown up enough to work without it. (sigh) Confused

I get mine from a regional chain in the northeast that doesn't go as far west as Iowa, unfortunately. It seems odd that Walgreens is unable to obtain more product.

Perhaps a call to the makers of VSL to identify an alternative outlet is in order?

I am about to refill my prescription, hopefully this is not part of a larger problem.

Try CVS..that is where I get mine or stop and shop.

Toughenough..I tried going off vls and (tried align) for several days and I would not recommend it at this time. Even with my chronic pouchitis, this still helps my pouch behave better when on it than off. Not to be gross with TMI, but I noticed a distinct difference in the odor (pouchitis related) from my pouch when not on it as I have no odor normally when taking it.

The young lady at Walgreens called and my VSL#3DS prescription will be there tomorrow and their supplier will carry it in the future. In one day it went from not going to carry it anymore to they will be.

VSL's website that it is carried by Walmart, Kmart and HyVee so I was getting ready to call them, so I don't know if they carry it locally or not.

Grandmaof1 - I checked their website and I could have ordered it directly, in the non prescription strength I could have used 2 a day to equal one DS. My insurance covers the DS but not the other strengths.

Thanks for your help everyone.
