I was diagnosed with Shingles back in Oct. but I am thinking not correct b/c with shingles I am told it only goes one side down your body. I feel like someone has punched me hard in the top of both arms. Little tiny bumps on each side, back of neck and I think on my scalp, top of back and inner thighs. I feel like I have been sunburned but haven't been in sun. Sometimes itches. I thought back was probably achne but beginning to think not. possible going through the change at 48. A lady told me about something related to UC but can't get in touch with her. Does anyone know what it is called? I am going to the general doctor and want to bring it up to him. I know without knowing the name he won't have a clue. I have got to get some relief!!!!! I wander if I might even have bone cancer.

my daughter had shingles that put her in the hospital it started out like severe headache with slight rash on chest then she had a few bumps near head. She was hospitalized for a week please be careful. She took neurtotin for nerve pain as shingles were in head, neck and chest.
Thanks crazy for your reply. I am taking neurotin 300mg once at bedtime but does not seem to help. forgot mentioning bumps on chest. How old is your daughter? Why did they hospitalize her for it? Has she since gotten a shingles shot. All health insurance are different but I found out something interesting the other day. Three different ways to get the shingles shot and each way determines how much you pay. I understand now that some pharmacies are giving the shot like they do flu. In my case that would probably best way for me to get it. I also get different answers about when one can get it after having shingles. this man does not have j-pouch but he ran into the same but then one doctor gave it to him. older man and he kept getting it over and over. he said that getting shot does not quarantee he won't get it again but if so might not be as bad. not feeling good so hope this message is understandable. wanted to share incase it can be of some help.
my daughter is 20 years old she was hospitalized as they thought she had a severe migraine in ER then a week later still in severe pain took her back to doc diagnosed with shingles but it had gotten so bad she needed more pain killers. She was in so much pain she would have a seizure looking attack but they said it was not seizures but everytime pain came really bad a few times day she started flailing her body and quit breathing a few times. Very scary they said they had never seen this in shingles. My dad also has shingles he took the shot a few months ago then got shingles outbreak right after so dont know about the shot? Hope you feel better soon.

THANKS SO MUCH! Hope she is doing good now.
kk, I wish you could go to an Urgent Care office and get help today. I don't know if they have them where you live. They are walk in clinics but not ER's. I think it would be good to see and Internist and/or Dermatologist as it appears whatever you have is spreading. Please google vasculitis as you might have something like it. My dad's had it too and ended up in the hospital.
My insurance company won't pay for the shot until we are 60.Both of my parents had bad cases in their 60's and still get minor pains 20 years later. My daughter had a small case in Jr. High, the doctor asked her if she'd been hanging around the old folks home.
With all of my problems I elected to pay for the shot and get it at 55 and my doctor agreed. She wrote the prescription, I took it to Walgreens and they gave me the shot where I paid with my HSA account. I have never heard of multiple shots or of getting the vaccination after having it. Neither of my parents were told to have shots after they had it.
