?pouchitis tx during pregnancy

Did anyone have trouble during pregnancy for pouchitis. What treatment did your MD recommend. I recently after 5 years of no blood am having blood, urgency, loose stools.

I started 20mg of prednisone 4 days ago and sx are worse. I hate to have to take medication while pregnant but cant function at work like this.

Please help.

I was on Augmentin my entire pregnancy and while nursing. Flagyl is also ok to take in your 2nd and 3rd trimester. Don't worry...many women get pouchitis while pregnant.

I had pouchitis later in my pregnancy too (for the last 5 weeks). I've never had pouchitis where I've bled until getting it when I was pregnant. My doctor put me on cipro and flagyl. Those worked as long as I was on them, but once I went off of them, the urgency and bleeding came back. I was induced a couple days after my due date and immediately all of the symptoms disappeared. Things will get much better after your little person stops putting pressure on your pouch.
