I had my colon removed at the Cleveland Clinic in Westin, FL. I would not recomend the surgeon or the clinic to anyone. Surgeon had God Complex and after care was terrible. Went septic after surgery due to staff not taking a pro-active approach. Every day was "lets wait and see what happens." Was in ICU for 7 days and total hospital stay was 22 days. It all could have been avoided with proper care.

So sorry to hear your story Mark. I am a patient there too, and had my own nightmare. That is always my husband's complaint, the let's wait and see attitude. I am in the midst of that right now as a matter of fact!

yasman florida cleveland clinic is not the famed one which is in cleveland and that is a great clinic ..the famed gi ..dr. bo shen is there as is some of the most knowledgeable surgeons..

My wife had total coloectomy and rectectomy with jpouch at Cleveland clinic in Ohio by Dr Kalady. She has myh colorectal cancer and they are heading up research on it. Kalady was very competent, we were overall very happy with staff and facilities as well as surgical results and we are both in medical field so that is saying alot. Hope that helps

Kalady did mine 4.5 years ago. I like him. Dealing with a sinus from pouch now, Shen has done 2 needle/knife procedures and looking at a few more. Shen feels if he can't fix it, I need to have surgery. Dr.Kalady does not agree. Have not had any serious issues just some inflammation.
