I'm a month post takedown and my butt is killing me! I'm using prep H wipes to wipe and calmoseptine cream right after. But damn it is really painful. It stings and feels raw. Even when I had my ileostomy for over a year, I had mucus coming out my butt so it was being used and I never had a problem. Please tell me this goes away and gets better over time.

For me, butt burn seems to be directly related to having eaten specific foods which cause the problem. Once the culprit food is out of me...the butt burn leaves. So, if you can identify which foods, etc. might be causing your butt burn you can modify when/how much you eat them and if you continue to do so....prepare your butt prior to eating them with a barrier cream and continue using it until the food has completely passed out of you. Different foods seem to cause butt burn for each of us and some people never suffer from it at all. Oatmeal seems to act as a comfort food to help relieve the symptoms of butt burn. I may eat only oatmeal for a few meals when experiencing bad butt burn. Best wishes.
