Anyone here just as happy/happier with another type of fiber?? I'd like to start using pills instead of wafers or poweder but I'm up for anything. I got the generic fibercon to try, and I'm currently experimenting to see how many how often work. They may / may not do the trick. Now I'm open for new ideas =)

I have new digestive enzymes and probiotics coming to try out as well. Trial and error works best for me.

I've used Metamucil wafers FOREVER because I assumed the psyllium is what helps the bulking. After reading on there the last few days, and looking at different fibers in the sotres, I've come to realize that is not true. Psyllium causes such bad gas, on top of what we already have to deal with, causing a bad recipe. However, it worked great for bulking. I'd very much like something that causes less gas. Even beano cant help that kinda gas! Then the gas causes other bad feelings in there, so basically, it sucks (lol)

Thanks!!

I found Metamucil seemed to give me excess gas, wafer or otherwise, so I had to look for something else. I no longer take any fibre supplement, but for a while I used Benefiber and I had better luck with it, in as far as there were no side effects to report. And since you can add it to virtually any food or beverage (provided you don't get the flavoured kind, of course!), and since it completely dissolves in water, it's really easy to take. I usually dumped mine in a glass of water before bed. No fuss. Smiler
Spooky
I used generic Metamucil caplets and didn't take a full dose of 5 at a time. I took 6-9 a day as 2-3 with meals. I quit using them and digestive enzymes. I stopped fiber and imodium before a year out and the digestive enzymes about a year and a half post take down.

I do better with looser stools as the more formed they are the more pain I have.
