So I had my first surgery may 25 and had the second surgery june 28. I had the takedown a week earlier than planned due to a tightening towards the end of the illeostomy so nothing was able to pass through. I was a little nervous going into the takedown early but knew my illeostomy wasn't working right. I wasn't able I eat and I was throwing up and completely regretting my choice for the surgery.
I have to say now that I couldn't be happier with my choice to get my j pouch. I was in the hospital for three days and sent home with no meds. Since the surgery the most BMs I've had in a day has been six and the least three and possibly one during the night. I feel extremely blessed with my results and can't wait to move on with my UC free life. I'm going to be starting high school this August and am so excited. I went to my club team's first soccer practice two and a half weeks out and was able to do everything my teammates could. Plus this week I've been at the lake with my family and have been swimming and jet skiing and even tubing today! I've been eating whatever I want for the most part, just not a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The people on this website helped me through my choice to get the surgery and having the surgeries and I have to say thanks. Just thought I would share my story with others!
