Not until Friday but...my pouch was created 1/13/00 and put into service on 4/18/00. Friday will be fourteen years!
I am still taking Azothiaprine and Culturelle to battle Crohns-like issues (i.e. joint pain, pain pain, pouchitis-type issues when I don't take them).
I see my GI once a year. Blood work twice a year. Surgeon when the GI tells me it's time to scope.
And get this! Last year, on 11/5/13, I started doing CrossFit. A couple from church own the gym and I had a coworker there as well. I have never been an exerciser and I wasn't sure I would be able to do much at all. I "dumb it down" quite bit. But I've definitely made progress. I've re-learned how to jump rope and can bench press something like 80 pounds. I call it Grandma CrossFit even though I'm not a Grandma.
Anyway...tonight I did a headstand. I can't describe the feeling. Yay me!
So....just starting out, been at it a year or fourteen...you can do anything you put your mind to. We don't need guts, we have GUSTO!
Be well!
Kim
