Hey all,
My acid/heartburn is back in full force. Whenever I find a remedy I get about 1 1/2 weeks and then boom it's back. This one, the magnesium supplement, worked slightly longer but now it's not working much at all. I am so nauseous and my old remedy, eating, doesn't help this time around. In fact, I think it made me worse. I recently had an ultrasound to check my gall bladder and they said it appeared 'normal' The doctor told me there were more tests they could perform because the ultrasound wasn't always conclusive. I'm calling my surgeon on monday and getting his opinion since he doesn't really know whats going on with all this acid crap. Anyway, what I'm wondering is since the ultrasound appeared normal, is it unlikely that my my gall bladder is to blame? Have taken nearly every antacid/ppi known to man. I'm still on protonix as well. Thanks Sarah Step 1: 5/06 Takedown: 8/06 Obstruction surgery:12/06 Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (gallbladder): 8/07 Adhesion surgery: 4/08 What's next?!? |

The ultrasound is only the first step in checking out the gall bladder. The next step would be a HIDA scan, nuclear medicine where they inject die into your veins and can see how it fills and functions. I knew I was in trouble when the tech went out to get the doctor at least four times throughout the scan....Yeah, it had to go. My ultrasound was normal.
