| My experience has been that all these noises calm down with time. Every now and then they do make a reappearance and I've had people ask if I'm hungry! I'm usually not hungry at all.

| It's normal. Maybe for some it gets better over time but my sister has had her J pouch for 20 years now and she still has loud noises. We took turns laughing at each other after Christmas dinner because it was so loud! Just goes with the territory now I guess.

DX UC 2005 when I was 37 Tried every drug and diet....all failed Step 1- 6/25/10 (colectomy & J-pouch creation) Step 2- 10/8/10 (take down) Very pleased with my results.

| Mine only seems to get like this if I have to empty my pouch and I am holding back for awhile before doing so. Then I do get lots of odd sounds. |

| I don't know if digestive enzimes help with the noises as I still have them but suggest you might want to try them. I started out taking beano and progressed to a better one that is also cheaper. I think they would help with the bloating.

| Thanks for the replies. I find myself a bit paranoid over every little thing and often cannot believe that the UC is under control. Even though I've had my pouch for a while, it's still a huge suprise to not see any blood in the toliet after going #2. I guess it’ll take a while not to worry about flare-ups and pouch malfunctions. Thanks again! |

| And thanks for the suggestions about the beno and probiotics. I have them but am not good about taking them regularly. It's a good goal for the New Year! |

| I have this problem too. The sounds are so loud, the people in my family put their fingers to their lips and say, "Shhhh..."
There are so many classes I'd like to take, but don't, because the sounds are so loud, they're disruptive and humiliating.
I have noticed if I drink plenty of water (up to 9 cups a day), I don't get the sounds much, but I do need to use the restroom so much more!
