Well the pain on my right side was back about 5 days after my laparoscopic adhesion surgery but it was mostly a twinge. I think it never went away but that the pain from surgery was greater and so I didnt notice it for the few days after.
I was worried but told that I was recovering. It has gotten worse and then all of a sudden the past few days it's back and it's very very painful again. Same thing, gallbladder area, front and back. I was also having difficulties with UTI's and had to be on antibiotics off and on. I had to stop taking them because they gave me horrible headaches and sinus troubles (Sulpha and then cipro) I still feel like all is not well with that but I had a no contrast no dye CT scan and it said no kidney stones. I don't know how much they can see without the dyes.. I also know that they said my Gallbladder looked fine with CT and HIDA scans but when they went in it was terribly infected and they removed it. My new doctor is very hands-on so maybe he won't rely on only testing. I just called to ask if they could please give me something for pain. I'm having an upper endoscopy next friday to see why my acid reflux is so bad and I think I have an ulcer. The doctor agrees and also thinks my pain could be from an ulcer. I don't think thats whats causing this pain since I've had scopes before when I had this pain and they saw nothing. I am going to ask him to please suggest someone to perform an ERCP. I know it's dangerous but I have to know whats going on.. there has to be something stuck in there, in those ducts. If they never look then they'll never know. So it's worth the risk of pancreatitis. I am NOT going to do this again, I refuse to be stuck in bed for the rest of my life. I am already to the point where I don't want to use my right arm and I don't want to sit in bed all day for another 5 months. I had been without pain meds for almost 3 weeks now, I was feeling much better and was able to deal with just tylenol. I even had some left over that I hadn't taken.. Well I had to take them for this. Now I have to call and beg for some more. I am hoping when I see my surgeon that we can think of something else for pain management. Perhaps I can see a pain specialist or something. Maybe I can get some kind of patch or something instead of pills.. I don't want to take pain pills anymore. Does anyone know if there is an ibuprofin or toridol type patch? I think ibuprofin would help a lot but I can't take it by mouth, makes me vomit. Thanks for letting me vent, this is very upsetting but I'm staying surprisingly positive. this time it's me telling people not to worry, we'll figure it out. I am also researching for ideas to present to the doctor. I'll hide my papers under my back and whip them out before they knock me out for my scope. That way I have all the doctors and nurses right there and they can't get away .. Step 1: 5/06 Takedown: 8/06 Obstruction surgery:12/06 Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (gallbladder): 8/07 Adhesion surgery: 4/08 What's next?!? |
