...and that could be why my BB is so bad.

Can anyone tell me what they eat, when they are eating 6 or more times a day? I have a really hard time with this.

#1 I travel for work and am with clients a good part of the day, I can't just pull a snack out of my brief case and start chomping.

#2 I have been battling prednisone weight (thats my story, and I'm sticking to it) for years. It is really hard for me mentally to eat that often.

So, what do you all eat? Nuts don't work, fruit, (too much sugar) It seems like the easy stuff is bad for me. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Smiler

Have a fabulous day!

Have you tried any Ensure drinks ? Easy to carry and can be drank room temp or cold. Or maybe a slim-fast type of product .. bars ..shakes etc.

You could have any type of those products with you and consume them when you go for a bathroom break during your working time.

A couple ideas anyway .. good luck.

Hi Cataja
I to got bb when I was at the same time since surgery.I now eat 5 times a day,all healthy stuff. This is what works perfect for me.
-6 am-three quarter cup vector cerial with soy milk and some raisins added.
-10 am- activa yougurt with 2 teaspoons of crushed slaba added,I buy activia in large format and put it in a small container.
-noonish time- some kind of a roll up,I do not eat bread,I most of the time really like peanut butter with banana and I pour honey on it.
-3pm-vector energy bar
5pm or 6 pm small supper, could be rice or something light,I,m not hungry then,I just eat so I don,t eat later on.I then finnish this off with another yougurt and 2 teaspoons of crushed salba, and Im doing just great, plus I have pouchitus but I feel awsome.I hope this helps
Merry Christmas
Matt

Hi Cataja,

I have a routine much like Matt's.

6ish - cereal with Soy Milk
10am - muffin (home made so I know there's not much sugar or fat)
lunch - sandwiches (love sandwiches) or leftovers, a small amount of fresh fruit or veggies and perhaps an applesauce cup
2:30 - fruit bar, snack bar, or cheese and crackers
supper is usually around 5:30 - I am usually not very hungry at this point either but I know I have to eat.
If I am longing something later on I will have a small bit of cereal or an all natural popsicle.

I don't eat a lot, I just feel like I am always eating.

HOpe you find something that works for you.

Banana bread sends me to the bathroom all day if i eat it. I have had my j pouch 20 yrs and won't touch it .we are all different and what works for one does not work for everyone else.

I can eat most foods, but banana bread also makes me go to the bathroom!

Banana bread/bananas send me running as well. Since having the pouch, I have never ate 6 meals.
In the morning I have made it a habit to eat, prior to being sick I never did. I will usually have a bowl of cereal, rice krispies, cheerios, frosted flakes. Mini wheats really ticken things up...but seem to come out with twice the amount as what I ate. If I have enough time in the morning I will have waffles.
For lunch I usually have a sandwhich and or yogurt.
For dinner its usually whatever my mom makes, minus corn or any of that kind of thing.
Then I ususally have a couple cookies before bed.
I dont have too much butt burn, unless I eat something I know I should...Which seems to be a lot.

What I'd say is make sure you eat a decent breakfast (which could be something healthy like oatmeal and maybe a piece of fruit) and make yourself some sandwiches you can take along with you to have for lunch. I agree that if you're out and about it's not really that practical to keep eating so I just aim to make sure I don't skip on the main meals even though, ideally, it would be good if I could eath 5 or 6 smaller meals.
